Initial Release

1. How Do I add content to the slider?

A: Go to Appearance> Epione Options> Slider and select a category for the slider.
The slider will show the latest posts from that category.
2. How-To change the slider speed:

A: You have to open up “other.js” file from your epione/js theme folder and find:

pause: 2000,

To change the speed you have to change this value to your desired need. The default is 2000 milliseconds. If you want to slow the slider down you have to increase this value and save the file.

Note: If you dont know how to open the other.js file via FTP. Use this plugin:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-filemanager/

3. The slider stopped sliding, how to fix that?

A: Its probably a plugin conflict. Disable all the plugins one by one and find out which one is causing this.

4. Whats the right dimension for the slider images?

A: 450px x 230px

The theme is released under GNU General Public License, version 2.

  • How do I make it so it shows the full post instead of just a snippet?

    Please help!!

  • Hey there, love the theme! I had a question about the popular posts widget. Is there a way to really widgetize it such that I can move its location on the sidebar? I want it to appear BETWEEN my search widget and my categories widget, but the way it stands it always appears before everything else. If I modify sidebar it appears I can only make the popular posts thingy either happen BEFORE all other widgets or AFTER all other widgets, not somewhere in between. So, how do I turn the popular posts into a REAL widget that I can move around in the wp-admin widget page?

    Thanks!

    • Nope, Maybe in the future version.

    • I did it! I modified the files functions.php to register a popular posts widget, changed popular.php to adjust for div and css changes, and changed the style.css a little so that it would look the same. If someone is interested in widgetizing the popular posts, let me know, I can email you the code snippets, modifications are trivial (though figuring out what they should’ve been wasn’t so trivial). Oh, once you make these changes you change also sidebar.php so that the popular posts is called as a widget not as part of your theme. But it is simple to do.

    • kool! I will try to make it so in the next version.

  • Hey i’m using this on one of my other sites but can’t find what I’m supposed to put as custom field for the images. Whats the custom field name to display images.

    • Pan there is no need to use custom field. The post images automatically appears in the slider.

  • Is there a way to set custom field as well? as I have some banners in post I don’t want the long banners used for images on the home page. but rather use some other images 🙂

    • No there isn’t. However you can use this version of the theme:

      http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/3/2/840217//Epione_with_tim_thumb.zip

This version only takes the very first images of the posts.
So, you can put your banner at the bottom after your post image.

and, I am thinking of adding custom field support to the next version.

  • Have you looked at doing any right column tweaking for ad placements? http://www.beautygirlsmom.com
Placement of ads in the right column misses by a few on the edge.

I also like your using the darker black on the grey, but went for the simpler ff0000 00000 ffffff options in adwords

Of course, I should have looked in the css to see what you used or better yet if you commented it with adwords color schemes for your 5 template options, but I’m here now and rambling

  • Can Someone please help me or point me to a video to help me add pictures to my sliders and my post. .. I love the theme…but I’m just about ready to give up on it…..Please help

    • Just simply attach an image in your post. the slider will automatically grab the image and show it. You don’t have to do anything special.

  • Thank you for the theme, it’s great! Two quick questions:
    1) Is there an easy/quick way to change the font? Some are finding it difficult to read. I’d like to simplify it slightly with a different font.

    2) I’ve read comments here about the images/thumbnails showing up in the posts and sidebar. I am able to display them fine in the slider, but don’t see them in “popular posts” or the posts on the main page. Do I understand correctly that I need to install the other theme that uses that plugin you developed for? or can I update my site with that plug-in?

Thank you again for sharing your work!

  • 1. go to Editor under “Appearance” from you admin panel.
    Then find all :

    font-family: ‘Lobster1.3Regular’;

    and change them to:

    font-family: Arial;

    2. No you don’t have to do anything special, they should automatically appear.
Post you site link. I will look into it.

  • Thank you so much for this theme! You are truly a very talented person. 🙂 I appreciate a lot that you made it free as well seeing as I’d expect this to be a very expensive theme to buy.

Thanks again and awesome work! 😀

  • great theme. I’m having a few minor issues which if I can resolve am away- guess I’m new to this stuff as well.

    1. I’ve looked through the posts and can’t seem to find the answer to where you put the images for the slider.

    2. The thumbnail to the left of the text on the front page is moving the text to the right. Can I reduce or remove this.

    3. When I add a reply I get ” Internal Server Error……..The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log”

I’ve switched templates to see if it was me and this seems to work ok on other templates. Is there something I’ve missed.

    4. Can I change the Title on the front page to Title case?

    5. Could be a nextGEN gallery issue, however, the menu items show through the picture.

Any help much appreciated . Thanks in advance for your help. Rob

    • 1. Your posts must have at-least one image to be displayed automatically in the slider. the post image is automatically grabbed by the slider, you don’t have to do anything special. Your images must be hosted in your server though.

      2. , 3. & 5. : Can you post your site link. I should take a look at it to solve the issues you are having.

      4. I am not sure what you are trying to say. Do you want to change the font case of the post titles?
