You forgot to add your menu to a theme location. Go to Appearance> Menus and set your menu location from left.

Go to Settings> Reading and select “Your latest posts” as your homepage.

Go to Appearance> Backgrounds and click the “Remove background image” button and add your color.
and to remove the pattern from header/footer go to Theron options> Style.

and upload the zip file and activate the theme.

you cannot comment directly in the blog page, you will have to click the post title from the blog page, go to full view of the post and then you can comment.
