    Is there a way to get rid of all mouseover image descriptions? That little yellow box that pops up when I mouse over a linked image (especially annoying on the featured images on the sidebar: shown below)…

    It’s not only the widget though, it’s any image I hover over on the site, and it’s kind of a pain to remove the titles that pop up in the yellow box because it automatically regenerates them.

    you will have to open up widgets.php and remove these:

    alt="'.get_the_title().'"

    Will this remove them from the entire site, including posts and pages?

    nope. only the widgets’ images. you can remove the post/page image titles by editing the picture.
