Initial Release

1. How Do I add content to the slider?

A: Go to Appearance> Epione Options> Slider and select a category for the slider.
The slider will show the latest posts from that category.
2. How-To change the slider speed:

A: You have to open up “other.js” file from your epione/js theme folder and find:

pause: 2000,

To change the speed you have to change this value to your desired need. The default is 2000 milliseconds. If you want to slow the slider down you have to increase this value and save the file.

Note: If you dont know how to open the other.js file via FTP. Use this plugin:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-filemanager/

3. The slider stopped sliding, how to fix that?

A: Its probably a plugin conflict. Disable all the plugins one by one and find out which one is causing this.

4. Whats the right dimension for the slider images?

A: 450px x 230px

The theme is released under GNU General Public License, version 2.

  • I am using Epione 4.0 for my site. I like the look and feel! Can you please advise if there is a way to change the tab pages at the top to categories? Alternatively, can you just have posts within certain pages? Thanks. H

    • I would also like to know this!

  • Hi again,

I personally like your theme but the problem is, no matter how I try to redownload the latest version and install it, I still couldn’t find the option to feature an image or upload the image i want for slider. Please assist.

    Thanks

  • I have a plug-in widget called Twitter for WordPress. The header text is not defaulting to the color of look of the other headers in the design (red script font). Any suggestions how I can set the header text for that specific widget to give it the look and feel as the other header text?

    Thank you.

    • The site is not loading properly.. The javascript seems broken. Probably for the twitter script. Uninstall the widget and asks someone if the site is loading properly now.

    • I removed the Twitter Widget. I also deactivated and reinstalled the JavaScript for this theme. There does still seem to be an issue with the Social Buttons linking as well.

      Any suggestions?
      Thank you for your help.

    • The site is loading properly now… Can you try another twitter widget that doesn’t mess up the theme’s default javascript.

    • There still seems to be an issue with the Social Buttons not opening to their pages when clicked. Any suggestions on a Twitter Widget you would recommend for your theme?

      Thank you again.

  • RE-POST:
Hi there. I really like this theme. wondering though, if it’s possible to change the placement of items in the body of the home template.
My home page is static and I’m wondering if there would be anyway to reconfigure the slider so it’s vertical & on the side and the home content area closer to the top.

ADDED: also is there a way to change the color of the slider and post area? I know they are images, but is it possible to just change the black of the image?

    • Sorry Amy, not possible.

    • I figured. Thanks for getting back to me though.

  • I’m loving the layout of the theme, but the way the images work for the slider are a problem when applying this theme to a pre-existing blog. Have you considered using the built-in WordPress “Featured Image” functionality to configure the slider images?

  • I almost gave up on WordPress before I found this theme… It looks great and it’s easy to use… Thank you so much!

Is there anyway to change the Header and Menu Font so it’s not all lowercase?

    Thanks

    • Go to Appearance> Editor and select “stylehseet” from right and find this words and remove them:

      text-transform: lowercase;

  • Hi, once I updated to WP 3.2, the epione theme seemed css seemed to get distorted in IE8.

Could you help me out with this?

  • Hi! I have been using your template and find it quite good: congratulations for your work. Having said that, I was wondering if you could help me: I would like to add on the top-right corner of my website a button connecting me to Flickr. That button would be located side by side with the Twitter and RSS buttons. Since I am not fluent in HTML/CSS, I was wondering if you could give a couple of tips on how to do that!
    Thanks!

  • I have 2 sets of posts- 1) Featured in the slider and 2) Uncategorized posts that show on the homepage. Both sets have custom field links linking to other areas of my site, however, the links on the Featured “slider” posts wont redirect properly. The ones in the Uncategorized posts are perfect. Can you help?

    • Fay I have to get into your site’s back-end to fix this. Send me an email.

  • Hi Towfiq! Loving the theme.

I was wondering if there was a way to disable the Slider? I don’t really need it and would prefer to remove it.

    Is this possible? Thanks!

    Maedra

    • Go to Appearance> Editor and select “front-page.php” from right and find these lines and remove them:

        query('category_name= '. $slidecat .'&showposts='. $slidenum .''); while ($sliders->have_posts()) : $sliders->the_post(); ?>

    • Perfect! Thank you 🙂
