Initial Release

1. How Do I add content to the slider?

A: Go to Appearance> Epione Options> Slider and select a category for the slider.
The slider will show the latest posts from that category.
2. How-To change the slider speed:

A: You have to open up “other.js” file from your epione/js theme folder and find:

pause: 2000,

To change the speed you have to change this value to your desired need. The default is 2000 milliseconds. If you want to slow the slider down you have to increase this value and save the file.

Note: If you dont know how to open the other.js file via FTP. Use this plugin:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-filemanager/

3. The slider stopped sliding, how to fix that?

A: Its probably a plugin conflict. Disable all the plugins one by one and find out which one is causing this.

4. Whats the right dimension for the slider images?

A: 450px x 230px

The theme is released under GNU General Public License, version 2.

  • Would like to change / translate “popular post” text, how?

    Tnx

  • Really like this template. Very easy to use out of the box with an advanced appearance. Only q I have is regarding the slide pics. Is there any way to place a pic which will show in the slide and on the front page but not on the full post? I get stuck with a thumbnail on the bottom of all of my posts. Thoughts?

    A+

  • Your theme is great and I really appreciate all your help with modifications.

    I know it’s been mentioned before but I thought I’d ask again: is there a way to show the full posts on the front page?

    • Please read the previous comments. I commented it somewhere before. Click on the <

    • Thank you. I did find the comments you were talking about. I thought I’d looked through them before, but must have missed it. Thanks again.

  • for popular posts? Can I set my own somewhere?

    • Sorry, by that, what do you mean

  • Hey there, this template is gorgeous – thank you so much! I just have a quick question…I created a “Home” page as my main landing page with the slider, and for some reason it comes up with a weird generic media clipart image to the left of the post (below the slider). It makes it look like I’m supposed to put an image there, but haven’t yet (and I don’t want to have anything but text there). Any chance you could take a quick look at http://www.jmorgandavis.com and let me know what I’ve done wrong? I can’t seem to find a way to remove it! Thanks in advance…

    • Try reinstalling the theme, Something is messing up the theme’s java script.

    • I’ve actually already reinstalled it, because I was also having issues with the slider. The image has appeared both times. :S

    • I don’t know how it is happening but this line of code of the theme:
      strg = strg.replace(/([0-9\.]+)(\s|\)|$)/g,”$1px$2″);

      is changed to this:
      strg = strg.replace(/([0-9¥.]+)(¥s|¥)|$)/g,”$1px$2″);

      this could either be a virus issue or a server issue.

    • Thanks so much for looking into that! I’ll see if I can change it manually. You’re the best – seriously!

  • Hey there, new issue. I’m getting the Error 404 page whenever I click on the slider arrows. I’ve reinstalled the theme several times, and I’m not sure what could be causing this. Any ideas off the top of your head?

  • Hi there – Thanks so much for offering this theme. I absolutely love it and have only one little issue – whenever I click on the author link, there is no css for the page. Please view this page here: http://www.vilewarren.com/author/GameMaster/

    I am using the function. Thanks a lot! 🙂

    • You have discovered a new bug, thanks for letting me know. Here is how you can fix this:
      Go to Appearance> Editor and click on index.php from right and find this line(s):

      and click on the “Update file button”
      Follow the same step for front-page.php and single.php

      Now at last click on the stylesheet from right and find this line:

      .author{ float:left; margin-right:25px; background:url(images/author.png)  no-repeat; padding-left:20px; margin-bottom:5px;}

      and replace it with:

      .ep_author{ float:left; margin-right:25px; background:url(images/author.png)  no-repeat; padding-left:20px; margin-bottom:5px;}

    • Thanks for the reply 🙂 I changed the function last night so that the author names were hyperlinks and would return an archive of their posts. Which php should I edit to import the appropriate css please? I’m not that familiar with wordpress structure.

      Thanks again!

    • I’m not quite sure what happened but it does display perfectly now. Thanks again for your time.

  • Oh dear…the slider feature doesn’t seem to work on any browser but Chrome! IE and Firefox show everything all jumbled together and my dropdown sub-pages are all listed permanently in the top menu.

    Could there be any chance that the hosting company I’m using (Green Geeks) is somehow messing up the code or something? There are just far too many issues, and other users seem so happy with it…

  • I notice that you say “Please read the previous comments. I commented it somewhere before. Click on the <" when it comes to finding the mod for "excerpts vs. full content" I have scoured your comments and have not found this mod. I have also looked at the index.php extensively, I don't think the way you changed the code that it will allow the user to overwrite the "full_content". Can you prove me wrong please?

    • Brian, I was having this problem as well and did find a previous comment on the subject from November 29. Following those instructions, I replaced “the_excerpt” in both the front-page.php and index.php files with “the_content” and it now shows the entire posts for me.

  • Hi Towfiq!

    I’m currently using this theme. I love it and I was just wondering if you could change the background color to white. It’s really dark and it’s hard for some people to see. Thank you.
