Update messed up my site – fixable?

Home Forums Free Theme Support Asteria Lite Update messed up my site – fixable?

    Hi Towfiq I., my site is a real mess after installing WP and Asteria-lite updates, even though I’m using an Asteria-lite child theme. Is there an easy fix or should I start over. Thanks! http://www.carmelsc.org/blog

    Maybe you should delete this post. I suspect the problem occurred before I installed any updates (I failed to check out my site before updating) – I got a notice yesterday that MySQL Disk Space is getting full, so there must be something going on, totally unrelated to any WP or Asteria-Lite theme updates. I’d welcome your advice if you have any. Thanks. Marie

    is your child theme still not working? what does your child stylesheet contain?

    /*
    Theme Name: asteria-lite-child
    Description: Child theme of asteria-lite
    Template: asteria-lite
    */

    .desc{color:white; font-size:16px; font-weight:bold;}

    I also have this, under Custom CSS:

    .desc{color:white; font-size:22px; font-weight: normal;}

    .desc{
    font-style: italic; text-transform: capitalize;
    }

    .header4{height:auto!important;}

    Add this to your stylesheet:

    @import url("../asteria-lite/style.css");

    Thanks, I added it to both wp “editor”/child-theme css and Asteria-lite custom css, but there’s no change.

    It looks like all the margins are out of whack. Nothing is where I originally put them, and everything looks bigger-pics and font. And the top menu was a nav bar originally, not a list. I’d rather just start over than try to fix everything, if I even could. Plus I can’t see the tagline you helped me add before.
    Still, thank you for such a beautiful theme.

    I got it!! You were right-adding the import url to the stylesheet, but it didn’t work until I placed it on a blank line after the */ and before the desc., whereas the first time I simply placed it after the desc., but no change… Nice to see my original site back! Thanks so much.

    When I go in to made edits in my dashboard the Visual tab is not working. The page appears to be blank, however when you preview the changes everything is there?

    Also when I attempt to open some of my “pages” they will not load. Some load fine & some will not load at all

    what do you mean by “Visual” tab? are you talking about the “Customize” tab?
    whats your site address?

    Part of the front page of my site is not loading (link to portfolio and first three posts) http://www.omnedesign.com. Any idea why this is happening? Showing huge white space in middle of site, now not working sporadically from multiple (mac) computers and IPs using Chrome and Firefox.

    Many thanks!

    Just to clarify, the section is missing only sometimes (for no apparent reason) and usually loads after the page is refreshed. Has been happening for months now. I’ve only made edits to the slider height, but I wouldn’t think that should affect the rest of the page (slider does resize every time page is loaded, but that’s a more minor issue). On some computers, the missing section shows up every other time the page is refreshed, I’m completely confused as to why this would happen so any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks!!

    Add this to your Custom CSS:

    .lay1_title, .homeposts_title, .lay1 .hentry{ margin-top: 0!important; opacity: 1!important;}
