  How could I add a link to another website (and opens in a new window) in the footer, to the left of “Contact”?

  Use the custom link item from Appearance> Menus.

  there is an option to open the link in a new tab. edit the menu item you just created, its there somewhere…

  I thought so too, but all it says is: URL, Navigation Label, Title URL. Strange.
