Is there any way I can make sure that my icons don't get cut off when the posts exceed and push them out of the box?

Go to Appearance> Editor and select “layout3.php” and replace this line:
<?php the_excerpt(); ?>
with this:
<?php znn_excerpt('znn_excerptlength_teaser', 'znn_excerptmore'); ?>
