Post in page?

  hello awesome support towfiqi!

  i can’t figure out how i put a post in a page if you look at my main frame now http://www.ottsjoaventyr.com/

  i hope you can see a post named “hotel”! i actually want a post like that in “sommar>boende” and not “sommar>boende>boende” now this “hotel” post are on the front page under the slider and in “sommar>boende>boende”!

  easier to understand, i dont want “hotel” under front page slider, i want it in “sommar>boende UNDER THE SLIDESHOW”

  how do i manage this?

  You can use this plugin to exclude the category from the homepage:

  http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advanced-category-excluder/

  Although there’s no way to add the post under sommar>boende slideshow. you can directly edit the page sommar>boende and add the text of that “Hotel” post.

  Okay so it is totally impossible to add a post under my slider in sommar>boende?

  i succeeded to add a post to page sommar>boende>boende how is that possible?

  never mind i noticed that it was possible because it is i category!

  because sommar>boende>boende is a category page and sommar>boende is just a custom page created by you.

  Theres a way though… It requires a lots of template file editing.

  download and extract the attached file and then Upload this file to your Triton Folder.

  Then go to Appearance> Editor and select “page_postlist.php” from right and find cat=1 and change it with the category id of “hotel” category. Then assign the page template “Hotel Posts” to that sommar>boende page.

  I’ve downloaded the page_postlist and installed it into my triton folder! but it seemes to not appear on my editor? do i have to put it into a specific folder like “css” or is it fine to just put it where all other php’s are?

  i also tried to deactivate the theme but that didn’t work as well.

  no, it should be in the main Triton directory. its strange. are you sure you uploaded the file correctly via ftp?

  okey i’ll upload with ftp im so dumb… but ftp://ottsjoaventyr.com is working but my password isn’t it is the same pw as wordpress or bluehost? i have tryed both but i have never been into it before so dont laugh now!

  when you bought the hosting from bluehost they sent you an email with id of password of your FTP account. find that email. if you cant find it, you will have to ask bluehost about the FTP id/password.

  i really dont know how i upload this via ftp i’ll show you how it looks like!

  but when you said to put in postlist in triton i thought i should copie it inte my triton pro folder that i downloaded after i bought it from you!

  but anyways here are my ftp server

  Try a free FTP application like “Filezilla” to access your files via ftp.

  sry i took so long! i now have the file uploaded into my ftp server. i used filezilla as you recommended and i can see when i go in ftp server without filezilla that post_postlist.php is set! but i still cant see it in editor!

  sorry if i keep you up at night like this we can continue tomorrow! 😀

  this is not where you should put it. remove that file from there and upload it to:

  public_html/wp-content/themes/triton

  Yes thanks now it done an i have my “hotel post page template”! very nice done thanks! now how do i put a picture preview to the post? i did manage to insert it into the “hotel” post and i can see it but not in the post “sommar>boende” and can i get rid of the post “hotel” on my front page? :)))))))

  Use the featured image to add thumbnails.
